A woman who has undergone breast removal can chose breast reconstruction, which consists in either having a silicon prosthesis implanted inside the tissues, or recreating the breast - thanks to tissues removed from another part of the body. But few women resort to this operation. For the rest, the solution lies in wearing external breast prostheses. There are two major types of external breast prostheses... =>Non adhesive external prostheses : they are slipped into an adapted bra which has a pouch; =>Adhesive external prostheses : they are held against the body either by an adhesive aid (to be changed every week) or by a silicon structure which sticks to the body.
